Envelopes - Types of Stamps

The US Post Office has "commemorative" stamps as well as the standard available stamp selection. Here is the link to their website to check out available stamps:

Personalized, custom stamps are becoming popular on invitation envelopes. These can be ordered through our website by selecting the link to "Zazzle". You can create and upload an image with your order and Zazzle will send you the printed stamps. When ordering custom stamps, you will select a stamp size and price of the stamp you want to purchase, so you must determine the proper postage before placing an order. Zazzle also offers pre-designed stamps for sale.

We also offer the service of creating and ordering personalized stamps to coordinate with your invitation design.

Hand Cancel

You may bring your invitations to the post office and request that they be hand cancelled to minimize any unsightly marks or damage caused by machine cancelling. Machine cancelling puts the wavy lines and circle with the date and location on the postage stamp to identify it as used. Small inked stamps are available at the post office to 'hand stamp' the postage stamp on the envelope.

Not all, but, some Post Offices will allow hand cancelling, however you may have to do that yourself with the post person handing you the cancelling stamp!
