Formal Wedding Invitations (cont'd)
The Date
Include the written out day of the week, the date and month on formal invitations.  Using "on" at the beginning of this line is optional, but is included on formal invitations.

on Saturday, the eleventh of June
or
Saturday, the eleventh of June
The Year
The first letter in the year is capitalized, if the year is included.  Formal invitations do not necessarily use the year, since wedding invitations are sent within a few weeks/months before the event.  However, it is widely used today and is not incorrect.
Two thousand nine
The Time
All wording is in lowercase, beginning with "at". The word 'noon' is not neccessary for a twelve o'clock wedding.  Weddings that begin on the half hour are written as half after, not half past.

Location of the Wedding
The location of the ceremony is shown in full and is spelled out in full.  The street address is included unless there is a map/directions card or it is a well known location.

The location is shown as:
Full location name
(street address)
city, state

Reception Location
The reception is indicated at the bottom of the invitation when it is held at the same location as the ceremony with wording as:

Reception at the same location, formal:
"and afterwards at the reception"

Reception at the same location, informal:
"reception immediately following"
