Wedding Invitation Wording

The job of the invitation is to let your guests know who, what, when and where the wedding will take place.  It may sound simple, but the wording on the invitation can be tricky. Traditionally, the bride’s parents were listed as the hosts because they paid for the wedding. But with so many variations in today’s family structures and with more couples paying for their own weddings, couples have been requesting  new ways to word the invitations so they include everyone. Perhaps the groom’s parents divorced and both remarried. Should they all be included, some or none included?  The most important thing is to openly communicate with family members about these decisions so they aren’t surprised when they receive the invitation.

If planning a destination wedding, remember that the invitation doesn’t have to include the entire weekend’s itinerary. Balance what you tell them and how much you let them do on their own.  The goal is to get them excited to attend the wedding.

Wedding Invitation Wording

There are many variations of wordings and special verses you can add to your invitations.  They range from romantic to comical and this is where some creativity often takes place.  The best resource we have seen to look for ideas online is listed below.
